Ohio looks for high-tech reply to globalisation

America's rustbelt is fighting globalisation with plans by Ohio, the biggest casualty of the recent decline in US manufacturing, to lure international and domestic companies away from lower-cost locations in Asia, Europe and the US.

An organisation of the largest businesses operating in Ohio will announce today it has hired IBM's consulting arm to bring industries such as financial services, electronics and wind power generation to the Midwest state.
