This weekend sees the start of a new series of columns in FT Weekend, written exclusively by Anthony Bolton, Britain’s pre-eminent fund manager. Bolton will write 6 columns for FT Weekend over the next 12 months. The column will be called “The Anthony Bolton Column”, providing readers of FT Weekend with a series of investment masterclasses.
The first column, appearing in this weekend’s edition of FT Weekend, will look at how Bolton analyses balance sheets - “Often I will read a report on a company I know to have a pretty weak balance sheet and no reference will be made to this at all. I think most investors could gain from a better understanding of the risks they are taking when they buy shares of companies that have weak balance sheets”, writes Bolton in FT Weekend.
Bolton is one of the UK’s best known investment fund managers and most successful investors, managing the Fidelity (UK) Special Situations fund since 1979. He also managed the Fidelity European Fund from launch in November 1985 until December 2002.
Andy Davis, Editor of FT Weekend, said, “We are delighted to welcome Anthony to the FT Weekend team. His unrivalled experience and knowledge will provide a highly informative column for readers of FT Weekend.”
