Blow for Airbus as factories sale talks end

Restructuring at Airbus took a blow Thursday when the European civil aircraft maker ended talks with bidders over the sale of three German factories integral to a major cost-cutting programme.

The move threatens plans by the government in Berlin to foster a big national supplier of aircraft assemblies and parts to rival the likes of Spirit AeroSystems from the US or GKN from the UK.
