The US on Tuesday commemorated the sixth anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks on New York and Washington, as al-Qaeda released a new video featuring one of the 19 hijackers.

In the video, a still image of Osama bin Laden appears with a voiceover that seems to match that of the al-Qaeda leader. Mr Bin Laden introduces Walid al-Shehri as one of the “19 champions” who hijacked the aeroplanes and committed the attacks that killed almost 3,000 ­people.
