NEC sees chip recovery ‘in three years’

The worst of the downturn is over but it will take two to three years for the semiconductor industry to recover to a “normal” level, according to the president of NEC Electronics, one of Japan’s largest chipmakers.

Junshi Yamaguchi’s remarks, in an interview with the Financial Times, are a caution against assuming that the recent stabilisation in the technology sector will quickly turn into a full recovery.
