Energy bills help push UK inflation above target

Uk inflation jumped to a seven-month high last month, according to official figures published on Tuesday, a day after Mervyn King, Bank of England governor, warned of the threat of rising global inflation.

Consumer price inflation rose by an annual 2.2 per cent last month - above analysts? expectations and higher than the Bank?s 2 per cent target but still below its 2.3 per cent forecast for the second quarter.
