Deutsche Post faces inquiry over state aid

Deutsche Post faces a European Commission investigation into claims that it misused government subsidies to fend off competition from private groups.

The European Union’s top antitrust regulator said it would scrutinise all state aid given to Deutsche Post since 1989 – raising the possibility that Europe’s biggest postal operator might have to repay substantial funds to the German government.
