China’s export fall raises trade war fears

China’s announcement on Wednesday that its exports declined in November is a stark indication of just how quickly global demand is slowing.

Yet the news could also have a political significance. The slump in Chinese exports increases the risk that Beijing will find itself on a collision course over trade with the incoming Obama administration.
