Postal workers set to strike

More than 12,000 postal workers are to strike on Friday as union leaders warned that a worsening dispute over jobs, pay and services could turn into a national stoppage.

The Communication Workers Union said members in cities from London and Edinburgh to Bristol and Plymouth would walk out for 24 hours, threatening the most serious postal disruption since a national strike two years ago.
