The jobs market is on the road to recovery, the recruitment industry reports Wednesday, as it counts the cost of a recession that has slashed its turnover by almost a fifth and driven more than 1,000 small agencies to the wall.
Permanent hirings rose at their fastest rate for two years last month, while temporary appointments were at a 16-month high, according to the latest survey by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation and KPMG, the professional services firm. Vacancies increased for the first time in 17 months.
