Recession fears weigh on dollar

Increasing fears over the prospect of a US recession hit the dollar this week as traders bet on further cuts in US interest rates.

Last month’s US rate cuts left the dollar relatively unscathed as investors focused on the positive impact on growth from an aggressive 125 basis points in monetary easing.
