UK watchdog bans Israeli tourism ad

A poster promoting tourism in Israel has been banned by the Advertising Standards Authority for implying that the West Bank, Gaza Strip and Golan Heights were “internationally recognised” parts of the country.

The “Experience Israel” poster featured a map of the country that included the occupied territories. That led to complaints from the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, Jews for Justice for Palestine and 442 members of the public, a relatively high number for the ASA.
