Aldridge loan puts spotlight on Capita contracts

By sponsoring one of Tony Blair’s flagship city academy schools, Rod Aldridge has become known as a supporter of government policies encouraging private sector involvement and funding in the public services.

But the disclosure that Mr Aldridge had lent the Labour party £1m will draw further attention to Capita, the company of which he is executive chairman, and its increasingly wide range of public sector outsourcing contracts.
