Only one kidney cancer drug approved

Just one of the four drugs for kidney cancer that helped fuel the row over health service “top up” payments has passed a renewed appraisal by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence.

Nice, which recommends treatments the NHS should adopt, said it was approving Pfizer’s product Sutent for advanced kidney cancer.
