Poland urged to hold elections

Jaroslaw Kaczynski, leader of Poland's ruling Law and Justice party, has called on parliament to dissolve itself so new elections could be held before the Pope's visit in late May.

Law and Justice has formed a minority government supported by two smaller populist parties, an arrangement Mr Kaczynski called "unsatisfactory". He appealed to the pro-business Civic Platform, the largest opposition party, to support new elections.
