UK scheme set to join lender fund

The Greater Manchester Pension Fund is poised to become the second UK local authority scheme to publicly sign up to an innovative vehicle designed to get credit flowing to cash-strapped companies.

The fund is close to making an allocation to the M&G UK Companies Financing Fund, which plans to lend tranches of up to £100m to mid-size UK companies that have found it hard to access credit in the current environment.
