EU eyes cross-border shopping barriers

Internet-based shopping is growing fast in Europe, a new study has found, but there are still significant barriers to making purchases across borders.

One-third of consumers in the European Union, or about 150m people, have now shopped online. This marks a sharp increase from the 27 per cent figure registered two years ago and from the 22 per cent level seen across the smaller 25-country bloc in 2004.
