Supreme Court forecast to have big impact

The new Supreme Court, which hears its first appeal on Monday, will trigger bigger changes to the substance and style of British law than leading judges predict, say legal experts.

The first hearing – on the seizure of suspected terrorist assets – is an early sign the court is likely to take an increasing number of cases that shape both government policy and the political controversies of the era.
