Retailers suffer hit to keep Easter trade

While the cost of the weekly shop mounts, the chocolate Easter egg is roughly the same price today that it was 10 years ago.

According to Cadbury Schweppes, competition among retailers for this once-a-year product is so fierce that none dare raise prices and risk the loss of customers during one of the year’s big festive occasions.
