BT's staff did their best to give Ben Verwaayen a memorable send off as he presented his last set of full- year results at the company's London headquarters.

A video of tributes from the likes of Tom Glocer, chief executive of Thomson Reuters, and Arun Sarin, chief executive of Vodafone, underlined the respect in which Mr Verwaayen is held.
