Second-hand video games used to be a quiet, but lucrative part of entertainment retailing.

Trading old-for-new has long been popular in independent games shops but mainstream retailers have traditionally been wary of a market that is frowned upon by games publishers, who stand to lose revenue if consumers buy used rather than new.
