Groups to tender for trials on road pricing

IT companies are to be invited to tender for a trial national road-pricing scheme within days in a signal that the government has not surrendered to the motoring lobby over the controversial policy.

The Department for Transport confirmed on Thursday that it was pressing ahead with its plan to examine how the systems would work for any such project.
