Williams, the British-based independent Formula 1 team, would have been facing a struggle for survival had the global downturn not forced the sport to cut costs, according to the men running the team.
In an interview with the Financial Times, Sir Frank Williams, whose illustrious career has been responsible for seven world drivers’ championships, said losses incurred in the past two seasons left him worried about its ability to compete against the richer motor manufacturing teams.
