A penny at Ryanair could cost a pound

Ryanair, the leading European low-cost airline, is considering charging passengers to use the toilets on board its aircraft.

Michael O’Leary, chief executive of the Irish carrier, told the BBC in a television interview: “One thing we have looked at in the past and are looking at again is the possibility of maybe putting a coin slot on the toilet door so that people might actually have to spend a pound to spend a penny in future.”
