Deleveraging lifts dollar to fresh highs

The dollar rose to a fresh three-year high against a basket of currencies on Wednesday as concerns over the health of the global economy continued to drive investors towards US assets and the greenback, putting pressure on supply of the currency.

The dollar’s rise came despite concerns over the rising US government deficit.
