Salmond offers sea energy prize

The Scottish National party government is to offer a £10m prize, the world's largest, for innovation in marine renewable energy that is demonstrated in Scotland.

Alex Salmond, first minister, said Scotland was a world leader in alternative energy and the Saltire Prize aimed to galvanise world scientists to push the frontiers of innovation in the crucial area of clean, green energy.
