Rolls-Royce engine tops 1,000 sales

Airbus got in early with the traditional round of air show order announcements at the Dubai air show yesterday, confirming Ethiopian Airlines was buying 12 of its new A350 passenger jets.

The aircraft will be powered by Trent XWB engines from Rolls-Royce, in a deal that Rolls said was worth $480m at list prices and took sales of that engine past 1,000.
