Banks’ dollar demands still high in Europe

Demand for dollar funding remained high among banks in Europe and eased slightly in the US, according to auction results released on Tuesday by the Federal Reserve and the European Central Bank.

The results suggest that money market stress remains high and that further changes in how central bank liquidity is extended to the banking sector cannot be ruled out as the end of the third quarter and the year-end loom.
