Richemont hit by sudden sales fall

Richemont, best known for its Cartier jewellery and Montblanc pens, said sales had remained strong in the first half of its trading year to end September but had decelerated sharply in October.

The world’s second biggest luxury goods group said it was well placed to withstand a downturn, thanks to its broad product and geographical spread and strong balance sheet.
