European equities fell back slightly on Monday as investors took profits on the back of a four-week rally that had seen the continent’s main indices reach their highest levels this year.
The pan-European FTSE Eurofirst 300 index fell 0.6 per cent to 944.64. The French CAC 40 was down 0.4 per cent at 3,504.54 while in Germany the Xetra Dax came off 0.7 per cent to 5,418.12.
