Chinese imports valued over US jobs

Most Americans regard the loss of US jobs caused by China's rising economic power as a secondary issue in Sino-US relations and believe low-cost Chinese products benefit US consumers, according to a new survey to be published on Thursday.

The surprise findings of the study for the Committee of 100, an influential group of Chinese Americans, suggest ordinary people are less worried than many US politicians, academics and union leaders about China's impact on global trade.
