Five years after the launch of the single European currency, euro bank accounts have still not taken off in the UK.

“Although the euro is a part of everyday life in many countries, British banks are still reluctant to offer euro accounts,” says Rachel Thrussell, savings research editor at Moneyfacts, the data provider.
