M&S to expand brands sales in grocery wars

Marks and Spencer is to expand the sale of branded goods from a select number of stores to its more than 600 stores.

The high street bellwether, which reports half year results on Wednesday, is also stepping up the battle with Waitrose, which plans to open hundreds of shops in direct competition with M&S’s Simply Food standalone grocery stores.
