Date rape drug test breakthrough

Date rape drug crimes are notoriously hard to prove, but a new test developed in the UK holds out the prospect that law enforcement officers will have a powerful new tool for tracing sex offenders who use the date rape drug gammahydroxybutrate.

Concateno, a British drug testing and medical diagnostics company, has developed a retrospective test for GHB that can identify whether it has been in the body going back further than three months. The test can identify, using a single hair sample, whether GHB is present in the system in very low levels. Salamander Davoudi
