EMI pension battle intensifies

Terra Firma, the private equity group set up by Guy Hands, could be hit by demands for big contributions to the pension scheme of EMI, the music group it took private last summer for £4bn.

Trustees to the EMI Group Pension Scheme have been in talks with EMI and the pension regulator for months, seeking agreement on a deal to make good a shortfall on the scheme that Terra Firma so far insists does not exist.
