Valuations deter China Mobile

High valuations for telecom assets in emerging markets are discouraging China Mobile from making overseas purchases.

Wang Jianzhou, chief executive of China’s largest mobile phone company, said: “We will focus on emerging markets. Unfortunately, it is a bad time for buyers in emerging markets because [telecoms assets] are very expensive.”
