Northgate shares at three-year nadir

Shares in Northgate Information Solutions hit their lowest level in nearly three years as investors continued to fret over the capital structure at the human resources software group in spite of its strongest first half in five years.

The group saw net debt rise from £184m in April to £416m – higher than its market capitalisation – after it bought Belgium’s Arinso last year for £251.3m.
