Residential: Institutional appetites are still hungry for houses and flats

With some countries in the throes of housing bubbles, it may seem an odd time for fund managers to be talking about setting up residential property funds.

The US, Spain and France have all seen stunning increases in house values in the past few years leaving uncertainty about the future direction of prices. In the UK and Australia, markets have already stalled and many economists’ are predicting stagnation at best and a crash at worst.
