The US commercial paper market expanded at its fastest pace in six weeks, according to data released by the Federal Reserve on Thursday.

The overall size of the commercial paper market increased by $48.6bn, while asset-backed paper rose $7bn. In the previous week, commercial paper expanded $11.5bn, while the asset-backed sector shrank $15.1bn.
