Cairn Energy, the Edinburgh-based oil group that had success with oil discoveries in India, plans to begin further exploration in Rajasthan in the hopes of sustaining peak production from the region for 20 years.

It also hopes to start drilling in 2011 in Greenland, said Sir Bill Gammell, chief executive.
