Japanese stocks rebounded from earlier losses to end moderately higher on Thursday, helped by the weakening of the yen.
By close of trading the Nikkei 225 had risen 0.1 per cent at 18,053.38. The broader Topix also rose 0.1 per cent to 1,779.72. But the Mothers market of smaller growth stocks, which had bounced back 15 per cent from a record low in mid-May, declined 0.9 per cent to 909.25.
