From Mr John Moore.
Sir, The FT has carried several articles recently debating what restructuring is required to make our banking system safer. In this critical debate, the varying conclusions of the economists all differ in one important respect from the conclusions of former investment bankers. The difference is that the bankers unanimously urge the reintroduction of the Banking Act 1933 (the Glass-Steagall Act) and its equivalents in other countries.
