Call for simpler ‘ethical’ labelling on goods

Goods produced under ethical consumer labels help too few producers in poor countries and should be supplemented by a broader standard, says a new report.

The Overseas Development Institute, a London-based think-tank, says that poor farmers would benefit from a simpler “good for development” label as well as existing standards like the Fairtrade mark.
