Labour sets out strategy to combat red tape

Labour on Thursday offered industry new promises to curb regulation and to clamp down on copyright piracy as part of a business manifesto that lauds enterprise.

The manifesto was launched by Tony Blair, Gordon Brown and Patricia Hewitt, the trade and industry secretary. The document, running to 28 pages, stresses a commitment to a competitive environment by cutting red tape and backing enterprise.
