The PanAmerican highway between Cuenca and Loja in southern Ecuador bristles with bright new signs calling on citizens to say Yes to the "Revolution in roadway construction".

The placards easily outnumber the actual construction sites along the route. They are but one example of President Rafael Correa's campaign to smooth the way for even greater change in the volatile Andean nation.
