GM mortgage arm set for capital market debut

Residential Capital, the newly created retail mortgage unit of General Motors, is set to make its capital market debut this week - a deal that will test the unit's credibility as a borrower independent of its troubled parent company.

A multi-billion dollar bond issue should be priced on Tuesday or Wednesday, people close to the deal said.
