Palm oil futures at nine-month low

Crude palm oil’s benchmark futures price hit a nine-month low on Tuesday after traders largely ignored a new Indonesian and Malaysian plan to boost demand.

The world’s two largest producers had been hoping to halt a sell-off in which the commodity’s price has tumbled 24.8 per cent in less than four weeks.
