Venture to join industry with research

Business and ministers are collaborating to set up a research centre that will pioneer manufacturing techniques to improve the UK’s poor record of turning research into commercial products.

The venture, based in Coventry, will be bankrolled with £40m of public money and by companies such as Rolls-Royce, Airbus UK and Jaguar Land Rover. The aim will be to help bridge the gap between academe and industry.
