Tonic for creatures great and small

As a young vet, Richard Dixon questioned the wisdom of covering night and weekend call-outs after working a long and strenuous day. But while his peers grumbled, he looked for a way to make life better.

The result was Dunfermline-based Vets Now, a UK-wide chain of emergency and critical-care clinics that open in the eve­ning. “I get fed up with people talking about their great ideas,” Mr Dixon says. “If you have a great idea, you should act.”
