Transform to make savings, NHS told

The National Health Service can make the £20bn of savings that it needs to find over the next five years without cutting services, Nesta, the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts, said on Tuesday.

But it can only do so if it transforms the way it delivers them, focusing on community-driven, preventive programmes that involve patients more in their own care – particularly those with long-term conditions.
